DAY 1: TUNIS / ARRIVAL
Upon arrival in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, you will be met and transferred by bus to your hotel. After check in, enjoy dinner and rest for the night.

DAY 2: TUNIS / CARTHAGE / SIDI BOU SAID
After breakfast, the group will depart for a visit to the Bardo Museum. This museum is well known for its large collection of intricate mosaics and vestiges of the greatest civilizations known in Tunisian history. After the museum visit, we continue to the medina, (the old walled city), where we explore the “souk”, or traditional market. This market is colored by many products of skilled North African craftsman, such as copper, leather, wool, and beautifully woven carpets. After lunch in the mid-afternoon, we visit the ancient archaeological site of Carthage, once the largest city in northern Africa. This site holds ruins from many eras of history, such as the Punic, Roman, Vandal and Byzantine eras. We then continue to the quaint village of Sidi Bou Said located on several hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. We explore its beautifully paved lanes and many breathtaking sea views.

DAY 3: KAIROUAN / SBEITLA / GAFSA
After breakfast, our tour will depart for Kairouan, a city known for its mosques and world famous carpet making craft industry. The grand mosque Okba Ibn Nafaa, and the mausoleum of the barber companion of the prophet Mohamed, are two of the city's famous religious sites. We will also visit a carpet making workshop observing the detailed hand skills of the carpet makers and how the designs are created. After lunch our tour will depart for the archaeological site of Sbeitla. This site presents well preserved ruins such a temples, beautiful baptistries, a thermal complex, a triumphal arch and forts dating back to the Byzantine period. Sbeitla also hosts an original antiquities museum to display their many beautiful excavated objects. Our tour will continue on to Gafsa for the night.

DAY 4: CHEBIKA / TAMERZA / MIDES / NEFTA /
TOZEUR
After breakfast our tour will set out for the mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza, and Mides. There we will have time to hike through the oasis area and enjoy the beautiful scenery of these
amazing desert springs. After lunch we will visit by 4x4 the large sand created “Ong Gamel” or “neck of the camel” among the sand dunes, and the desert site of one of the Star Wars films. Our tour continues on to Tozeur for the night.


DAY 5: TOZEUR / KEBILI / DOUZ / KSAR GHILANE
After breakfast our tour will depart and cross the dry salt lake of Chatt El Djerid. We will continue to Douz and there have an optional activity of a camel ride from Zaafrane into the Sahara desert. In the afternoon we will depart by 4 wheel drive for the desert village of Ksar Ghilane. We'll cross the large rocky desert of Le Reg and stop for a view of the sunset over the sand dunes. This evening we will stay overnight in the desert in a simple camp style tent or in an optional hotel style tent facility located in Ksar Ghilane.

DAY 6: KSAR HADDADA / MATMATA / GABES / SFAX
Early this morning we have the option of viewing the sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast we will depart for
Matmata, passing through the Berber village of Ksar Haddada. Upon arrival in Matmata, we will visit one of the intriguing underground dwellings of the “troglodyte” people. After lunch we will continue on to the maritime oasis of Gabes, and then continue to the second largest economic city in Tunisia, Sfax. Sfax is the commercial and
industrial center of Tunisia and is surrounded by an expansive agricultural area populated with olive trees. Here we will have dinner and rest for the night.

DAY 7: EL DJEM / SOUSSE / PORT EL KANTAOUI / TUNIS
After breakfast our tour will depart for El Djem, where we will explore one of the world's best preserved Roman Coliseums. Afterward we continue to the seaside touristic cities of Sousse and Port El Kantaoui. The ancient medina of Sousse is well known for its historic fortress and high look-out tower, as well as its amazing souks. Port El Kantaoui hosts a beautiful marina. In the afternoon our tour will return to Tunis the capital city where we will have dinner and rest for the night.

DAY 8: TUNIS / DEPARTURE
After breakfast, you will be transferred by bus to the airport for departure.
